Northumbrian Water, Newcastle City Council, National Farmers Union, the Northern Farmers & Landowners Group all joined the project in the last fortnight.
It seems that even in times when organisations’ resources are being stretched to the limit, there is still a clear commitment to improving our environment. It is a real positive step to have these new partners on board, and they will further strengthen an already robust Strategy Group.
The Strategy Group will help determine the priorities for action in the Tyne Catchment Plan. The group now consists of a wide range of organisations, which will bring an enormous amount of knowledge about the Tyne catchment and the issues that it faces. This will give us the best possible start in developing a realistic plan of action to improve the Tyne’s water environment.
